DREAMS AND GOALS
The 2012 season will be representing the CGRA's 55th year of organization. The Association was first formed as the Canadian Barrel Racing Association, then in 1962 the name was changed to Canadian Girls Barrel Racing and Rodeo Association and in 1967 the Association became a duly constituted, non-profit organization with its present name "Canadian Girls Rodeo Association." Who had ever dreamt that a few ladies could start something and then have others join in to continue its growth into what this association is today.
The New Year always brings resolutions and attributes that we want to change, or goals we want to achieve. Goals I would like the CGRA to achieve this year is to have more rodeos, preferably north of Calgary. have a great finals and to have a GREAT team. The CGRA team is not just the board of directors but all the members, because we all share a common goal - the betterment of women in rodeo.
The 2012 board met for the first time and the enthusiasm that was there was energetic. We are working on having some schools in March and/or April so watch the website for updates
I ask of each member to give forth their best effort for themselves and for this association. Nothing is more powerful than a team of people focused on the same goal, and believe it the sum of your effort to work bingos is a huge contribution to our (your) association. Also if you know of a place that would be able to host a rodeo or maybe you can form a small committee to host a rodeo, contact Judy Goodine. "When your heart is in your dreams, no request is too extreme." ~ Jimmy Cricket ~
You have powers you never dreamed of, you can do things you thought you could do. There are no limitations in what you can do except the limitations of your own mind." ~Darwin P. Kinsley~
May each of you have a successful year and remember that the real contest is not against others, but against yourself.
2012/13 CGRA President
